Mold Testing

Mold Testing for Residential & Commercial

In your home, some mold problems are obvious — you can see it. If you can see mold, or if there is a musty odor in your home, you may have a mold problem. Others are not so obvious. Mold growth may be found underneath wallpaper, baseboards, behind walls, and may be evidenced by discolored plaster or drywall. If you don’t have any observable mold, but are experiencing health related symptoms, mold could be growing in areas you can’t see, such as in heating ducts. In this case, the best way to determine if you have mold spores is to have mold testing performed. Testing is the only way to determine if you have a mold problem and what type it is

When should a mold test be performed?

  • when you can actually see mold-like growth or staining
  • when you smell odors that cannot be explained
  • when there are prolonged leaks from plumbing
  • past moisture damage or flooding that was disclosed by the seller
  • when someone who will be living in the home has allergies or other health related issues

In commercial buildings, the need for mold detection and mold testing can be especially vital. Unlike residential mold, which can impact a single family, commercial mold can result in widespread building sickness, affecting the health of numerous people, from school children to office workers to hospital patients. It is important that the quality of the air in the workplace does not affect the health of your employees or your clients.

A few reasons to have a mold test:

  • You've noticed leaks, musty odors, or discolored walls or ceilings
  • You've had a flood or water leakage problem
  • You are purchasing or leasing a new commercial space
  • People in the space are complaining of odors, headaches, negative health effects
  • You have begun to smell mold but cannot identify the location within your site
  • If you see visible mold on ceilings, walls, floors, or equipment
  • If you are experiencing foul or musty odors as a result of a process, renovation, or change in the building layout

Keeping your home or workplace safe is our priority.
